RKSMVV maintains a strict zero tolerance policy towards ragging, ensuring that all members of the campus community feel safe and respected. This commitment aims to foster an inclusive environment where no individual is subjected to bullying or harassment. The college established a dedicated Anti-Ragging Cell in May 2016 to actively combat these issues.
Each year, the Cell engages with first-year students through orientation sessions, educating them about the nature of ragging and other forms of abuse. During these sessions, students are informed about the serious consequences that perpetrators face, reinforcing the college’s commitment to a safe learning environment.
To enhance communication and promote a culture of respect, the Anti-Ragging Cell includes two student representatives—one day scholar and one hostel resident. These representatives collaborate closely with the Cell, helping to establish and uphold a clear code of conduct among students.
Since its inception, the Cell has organized various awareness programs aimed at highlighting the dangers and consequences of ragging including Poster Making competitions, Film Screenings, Workshops, Interactive Sessions with students among others. These initiatives not only educate students but also encourage a supportive community where individuals can speak out against any form of abuse. The recent most effort included the organization of an Anti-Ragging Week in August 2024 which saw a large participation of 110 students from the College,
The collective efforts of the Anti-Ragging Cell and student representatives demonstrate RKSMVV’s dedication to creating a campus culture rooted in respect, empathy, and safety, ultimately ensuring that every student can thrive without fear of intimidation or harassment.
