Functions of the Ethical Codes Committee

  1. Development and Maintenance of Ethical Standards:

The committee is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining the ethical codes and standards that govern the behaviour of students, faculty, and staff. This includes setting guidelines for academic integrity, professional conduct, and interpersonal interactions.

  1. Education and Training for promoting Ethical Culture:

The committee organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate the college community about the ethical codes. They ensure that everyone is aware of the importance of ethical behaviour and the specific expectations outlined in the codes.

  1. Advisory Role:

The committee provides advice and guidance to individuals and departments on ethical issues. They serve as a resource for interpreting the ethical codes and offer support in resolving ethical dilemmas.

  1. Review and Investigation:

When allegations of ethical violations arise, the committee reviews and investigates these claims. They conduct thorough investigations to determine whether a breach of the ethical codes has occurred.

  1. Policy Recommendations:

The committee evaluates the effectiveness of existing ethical policies and recommends changes or new policies to better address emerging ethical issues. They ensure that the college’s ethical standards remain relevant and robust.

  1. Confidentiality and Fairness:

The committee ensures that all investigations and proceedings are conducted with strict confidentiality and fairness. They strive to protect the rights of all parties involved and maintain impartiality in their processes.
