Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan is equipped with a small medical unit featuring two beds, oxygen supply, a saline stand, pulse oximeter, and a sphygmomanometer. The college provides medical assistance to students through three levels:
Health Awareness and Check-up Camps
In partnership with Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan, a leading city hospital for women, the college conducts regular health awareness and check-up camps. Every academic year, all first-year students undergo medical check-ups, including blood group identification. Additionally, annual awareness and detection programmes for breast cancer and thalassemia are organised.
Health Card for Students
The college offers a Health Card to students for an annual fee of Rs. 200, granting access to free or highly subsidised medical services at Matri Bhavan. Benefits include:
Free outpatient department (OPD) treatments (excluding medications)
Free pathological investigations
Free radiological investigations
A 50% discount on total billing for indoor admissions (excluding medications)
Charitable Homoeopathy Dispensary
The institution also operates a charitable homoeopathy dispensary, staffed by two visiting doctors each week. This facility offers free diagnoses and medications to students, as well as to women and children from the local community.
Additionally, the hostel includes a sick room and has a doctor on call for medical emergencies, with first aid facilities readily available in both the college and hostel.
Counselling
The faculty members are committed to providing academic and personal counselling to students. Since 2009, the college has collaborated with the Centre for Counselling Services and Studies in Self-Development at Jadavpur University to organize periodic counselling sessions, both individually and collectively, to support student well-being.
