Placement Cell

Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan has an active and engaged placement cell which plays an important role in coordinating placement related activities, ensuring a smooth placement process for the students. This helps in providing a platform for interested students of the College to have an early exposure to employment avenues and explore their orientations and aptitudes. Some of the key responsibilities of the Placement Cell include getting in touch with trainers, potential internship and employment providing companies, hosting job fairs, disseminating information to the students, facilitating the submission of student details to future employers, organizing pre-placement training for programmes for students which include honing soft skills such as computer literacy, proficiency in spoken English, interview skills and the like. These initiatives are particularly helpful for many students who are first-generation learners for whom internships, training programmes and employment opportunities facilitate future economic independence which is a central vision of the College.
Our college has tied up with companies such as TCS, Magic Bus India Foundation, Ujjivan Bank, digital marketing agency Digital Concepts, social enterprise Educhange, management firms like Development Connects and initiatives such as Folk India for facilitating employability among students. TCS has been conducting an extensive one-month training programme for students under the aegis of its Youth Employability Programme (YEP) which has worked towards addressing the challenge of unemployment in India for the past years. This programme supports students by guiding them for internal (within TCS) and external job placements. Magic Bus India Foundation is another organisation which trains students of our college and offers placements in reputed companies after the completion of training. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Limited, with its aim of working towards the uplift of socially backward youth of the country, has also held training workshops for interested students who were then extended the opportunity to appear for online job interviews with the bank. TCS, Magic Bus India Foundation and Ujjivan bank have provided traineeship and employment to several students of our college in the past year. Development Connects, on the other hand, supports students by providing them with the necessary skills to create their own business. It has helped students from the college to apply for Community Service Centers (CSCs) which enables them to run service providing hubs from their residences given they have the requisite space and basic internet facility. Folk has also provided paid and unpaid internships to students of our college. Overall, the placement cell, through its placement connect initiative has functioned to improve Industry-Institute connections.
